Shea-BA was born in 2018, when its founders Angela Anderson and Brian Roberts, began producing the richness of Shear Butter mixed with essential oils and selling them from their much-loved home in Brixton, London, England. Built on strong principles and true passion, the Shea-BA brand has grown (a lot!), from our launch Hand Cream product we now boast six well-branded products. But despite the joy & challenges Shea-BA's philosophy has always remained the same. Nature matters. People matter and the Future is vitally important. That is why Shea-BA sources quality Shea Nut from the fertile soil of Tamale, In Northern Ghana where the women produce fine quality, Shea butter. We work closely with our supplier. Our intention is never to exploit! We pay the fairest price possible ensuring the promotion of Fair Skills Trade. We understand that the women on the Shea butter farms are passionate about what they do and want to hand down their skills and land to the next generation. Working closely with Ghana catapults Shea-BA's missions and ethos to supply grade A Shea butter.
We use the finest of ingredients, enriching peoples beauty and promoting healthy lifestyles. We believe that having healthy and glowing skin contributes to your well-being. Our ingredients – We use four base ingredients in each of our authentic products. With intense research into the oils and the benefits of each of the base ingredients, we are well equipped to provide you with quality products. Our base ingredients start with the Shea Butter. Our unrefined Shea butter directly from Ghana is handpicked from the finest Shea nut, they are then washed and put out to dry. The following day they are slightly roasted, crushed then adding water grinded to smooth Shea Nut paste. Left over night it is then washed up to five times, boiled to an oil and strained of final grit to produce fine quality Shea Butter. By appreciating our producers and the family farm technique used, to produce our unrefined Shea butter, we are confident that our Shea butter will be off white ivory in colour. High in vitamins A, E and F with high potency of natural sunscreen called cinnamon acid, and is free from contamination.
Shea butter has many benefits. It is considered as the best natural moisturiser anti-ageing skin regeneration. It also protects the skin from UV sunlight, harsh climates. It strengthens your skin by stimulating the production of collagen. These benefits aids in fighting conditions relating to dry and chapped skin. The second ingredient we use is Cocoa butter. This is to add firmness to our products. It also is an excellent moisturiser, it posses healing powers and it has anti-ageing properties. Cocoa butter is high in fatty acids and has the ability to hydrate and nourish the skin and improve elasticity. The fat in Cocoa butter forms a protective barrier over the skin to hold in moisture. Also included is our Cold-Pressed Coconut Oil. This has a low melting point which allows the coconut oil to melt on contact with your skin. This makes coconut an excellent carrier oil, as it is able to penetrate deep into the skin on contact leaving the essential oils intact. Finally, we use Extra Virgin Olive Oil. This helps our product to be more supple to the touch. The Extra Virgin Olive Oil has anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-ageing properties. It rehydrates the skin by building the skins moisture barrier to prevent hair loss. Each of the ingredients shares a common feature, that focuses on promoting healthy, glowing skin and hair.
